Over 1000 Shop Direct staff got a bit of a surprise at their Balcony Briefing when they were joined by Gino d’Acampo at the launch of his new kitchen at their office premises. Owl Events constructed a working kitchen for demonstrations from the former “I’m a celeb…” winner, who was clearly a big hit with the ladies.

Gino got up close and personal with staff, sharing spaghetti and his secrets to success in the kitchen. He demonstrated his good humour as well as his kitchen skills to provide an entertaining afternoon for everyone who attended.

OWL recently had the pleasure of bringing together two of Liverpool’s most historic icons; Everton FC and the Liverpool Anglican Cathedral. The clubs playing squad, coaching staff, management team and fans came together to celebrate the 2009/2010 Premier League Season.

Steve Rider hosted the awards ceremony which welcomed over 700 guests, and saw the Cathedral transformed with elegant lighting, stage production and room dressing – including a unique ice sculpture of Goodison Park itself.

All award winners received specially made crystal trophies, and the highlight of the night came with the announcement of the Player of The Year. Fans had a great opportunity to get close to the squad and the night was deemed a resounding success.

Just in case you didn’t quite get that – OWL recently helped our clients Everton FC produce a spectacular gala dinner at the Liverpool Arena and Convention Centre. 1985 was the most successful season ever for Everton FC – they won not only the league, but also the European Cup Winners Cup. Players and Managers from the legendary team were reunited to celebrate with over 800 distinguished VIP guests, along with key figures from the world of television, football and business.

Clive Tyldesley hosted the evening, which included a Charity auction and raffle which raised over £22,000 for the Everton Foundation. OWL revelled in working with the Club to produce this landmark celebratory occasion and the evening was a resounding success.

Roll on the End of Season Awards!

The OWL team recently helped successful Liverpool magazine ‘Lifestyle   Monthly’ deliver their inaugural Awards Event. The glamorous evening was hosted by Ruby Wax (pictured with OWL Event Manager Nicola Wilce). Ruby kept guests on their toes in her inimitable style, and handed out awards including Best Spa, Best Restaurant, Best Salon, and Best Green Contribution to the City.

OWL worked closely with host venue the Liverpool Hilton, various sponsors and VIP guests including John Barnes, Margi Clarke and Amanda Harrington.

Lifestyle Monthly Editor said “I have loved working with Nicola and Ciaran over the past six months. I have no hesitation to use OWL Event Management for the awards in 2011- in fact I refuse to work with anyone else…Thank you so much for turning my vision into a reality, I love you guys!!!”

With a growing family comes the need for more space! OWL is happy to have taken new space at Dakota Business Park.

Our new office is perfectly located close to Liverpool John Lennon Airport and motorway links, handy for when we have to dart around the country producing events and seeing our clients.

One of the best things about our new office is the great meeting spaces it provides, this allows the team to get together to brainstorm new concepts and ideas for our clients. Here’s to many happy years in our new pad!

Last month OWL ventured north of the border to Edinburgh to help our client – a leading national agricultural company – deliver their annual conference.

We combined our expert knowledge of AV and Conference Production to ensure delegates were engaged throughout, and that our clients key messages really hit home.  We also included team building elements and a trip to the magnificent Royal Britannia Yacht, ensuring delegates got as much as they possibly could from their time in Edinburgh.

The highlight of the 3 days came as we celebrated Scottish culture with a Highland themed gala dinner. The evening was brought to life with traditional bag piper, whisky tasting, Highland dancers, and proud Scottish theming throughout.

OWL is proud to announce that we have been selected from 22 applicants to be appointed preferred supplier to the Event Management Panel of Liverpool Vision.

Liverpool Vision is a development agency charged with the physical and economical development of business and enterprise in the city. Although our work often takes us across the UK and Europe, OWL is very proud of the city which we call home. We are excited by the prospect of helping deliver briefs spanning conferences, awards dinners, seminars and events for specific high profile projects, such as the upcoming World Expo.

Although we haven’t been helping Fergie’s boys, OWL did recently take a trip to Manchester to help our clients deliver an exceptionally successful teambuilding event.

The Old Trafford Cricket Ground was chosen as the perfect venue to hold Commercial Break. The teams were tasked with creating humorous yet informative short films based around working life, which were then shown at a Oscars style awards evening. We provided the equipment, costumes and tips, they provided the magic!

Obviously, OWL can’t show any bias, but the ‘Harry Potter’ meets ‘The Office’ take on company logistics was a personal highlight…

For the third year running OWL has helped Merseyside Young Professionals raise over £10,000 to support Claire House. A ‘Black Tie and Diamonds Ball’ held at the Crowne Plaza in Liverpool played host to generous movers and shakers from across the region.

Guests enjoyed a sumptuous 3-course meal and magnificent entertainment whilst generously supporting the cause by entering the raffle and bidding on auction prizes.
